How many post-nominals can I use?

You may hold many post-nominals, particularly if you have a number of academic qualifications, or have changed your career. You should use your discretion as to how many are meaningful and relevant to your physiotherapy medico-legal work.

With regard to medico-legal work, lawyers will be looking for the following:

  • Your qualifying award in physiotherapy (GradDipPhys, BSc, or a pre-reg MSc, or MCSP if you qualified as a physiotherapist before 1986.)
  • Any higher degree related to physiotherapy or related work (MSc, MA PhD etc)
  • Membership and/or award of a recognised professional body e.g. MCSP or FCSP, and DSA(CSP)
  • Membership of recognised professional networks or organisations that are particularly relevant to your scope of expert work e.g. MLACP or MACP or other professional networks
